CHIRO: THE SOT BLUMSTER…and Major’s wife Todde…

Dear Chiro-List Owner,
I am unclear what the situation is with Todd, but I have tried to prevent
his emails from coming through and it causes all my yahoo account groups to
bounce whenever he posts so I just live with it at this time. Regretfully
while I agree with most of his sentiments and applaud his perspicacity, I
balance being member with having to constantly delete his messages. I guess
it is something I will have to work out on my own time. If you have any
suggestions or God forbid if you are Todd, then please know that I am sorry
and hope you do not include me in one of your email broadcasts.
Sincerely,
Charles

Dear SOT Blumster (Charles),
I wish you success in you unsubscription from chiro-list. You will be
relieved to know that the list owner is Kevin Thomas McGann, DC residing in
The Netherlands – not me.
Thank you for your applause for most of my "sentiments" and "perspicacity."
I have deleted you from my emailing list – which is separate from
chiro-list.
Sincerely,
Todd

PS The name Blum is forever etched in my mind ever since Ms. Blum at Paul
Revere Jr. High (OJ’s daughter went there I think) – years ago – picked up
my binder, ran to the door of the bungalow and HURLED it – papers ended up
flying everywhere. The classroom erupted in laughter! What had I done?
Someone had written something nasty about poor Ms. Blum in pencil on my
desk – I swear it wasn’t me. Indeed, I swore this very thing years
ago..right before Ms. Blum threw my notebook! During a test, when Ms. Blum
approached, I covered up the nasty note with my hand. Ms. Blum pulled my
hand away (likely thinking that I was hiding "cheat" notes – but I was not).
She grabbed my notebook, ran to the door and HURLED it outside! The rings
opened when it hit the ground and my carefully organized notebook scattered
in the wind! All because some SCHLUMP (not me – I swear) wrote something
nasty about Ms. Blum – and I didn’t have the foresight to erase it before
the test. Came time to give out grades, Ms. Blum called each student back
to her desk. I told her she was the best math teacher I ever had (she
wasn’t bad!). She waxed eloquent about being "the cream of the crop" from
Univ. of Chicago… I got a B I think…
Don’t forget Charles…
SOT guru Major B DeJarnette said: "We must respect each other’s beliefs, as
in,
DeJarnette MB, Cornerstone Am Chiro 1982 Jul/Aug; 82: 22,23,28,34.
This is a wonderful and informative interview with Dr. Major Bertrand
DeJarnette performed by the journal "The American Chiropractor". The article
creates an understanding of how Sacro Occipital Technique was developed and
DeJarnette’s personal feelings about chiropractic. He describes his
formation of the category system of diagnosis, cranial technique and his
vision for the future of chiropractic among other concepts discussed. He
summed up with this note to his chiropractic colleagues, "We must respect
each other’s beliefs. We must support our colleges and associations. And we
must at all times be proud of chiropractic and proud of our calling as
chiropractors."

This was a man of purpose; a man of dedication. Over the next 30 years he
researched and developed what is yet to be recognized in the chiropractic
profession as probably the greatest technical approach that we have: a
tremendous gift. The research and the fruits of his research were a
synthesis of his knowledge of chiropractic, osteopathy, and engineering. And
when the research had reached the point where he felt it was ready for
proliferation to the profession, he undertook to teach. With his beloved
wife "Todde" at his side, he began to conduct seminars in various parts of
the country.

With a wife named Todde, he can’t have been all bad. : )
Joe Unger agreed with me at an early CORE conference I seem to recall. I
like the SOT folks…
As Major said, "we must at all times be proud of chiropractic and proud of
our calling as chiropractors."
My calling as a chiro is to PREVENT loss of tiny live and loss of tiny
limbs – and PREVENT more vertebral subluxations than DCs will ever be able
to adjust by hand.
Thanks for reading Charles.
Sincerely,
Todd
