wife pregnant, 9mo old with virus

Wed AM my 9 month old woke up with a temp of 101, by 9pm
it had climbed to 103 and tylenol didn’t seem to be helping.  We
ended up taking him to the ER where he was 104.2.  Doctors
didn’t seem concerned and sent us home with instructions just
to monitor his behavior and don’t worry too much about the
temp and to just keep giving him tylenol and motrin.  Said he
probably has some sort of virus that’s going around.

By sat his fever broke and he was just left with a runny
nose but seemed to be feeling much better.  This morning,
when he woke up, his whole body was covered in small
spots everywhere.  We took him to his doctor this morning

They said he could have Roseola or Fifth’s and again just
sent us on our merry way, no tests, nothing, other than to
say my wife should get a blood test since she’s pregnant.
Shouldn’t they at least try to figure out what he has, or
is there simply no point since nothing can be done?

OW!

The night cramps have started again.

Last night was a stinkeroo.  Twice I was woken by agonising cramps, in
the same place, the muscles bunching like fists under the skin, me
stamping around the bedroom crying.

Today the area feels sore & bruised, and the centre of it is a hard achy
knot that I’ve been massaging to try & get it to release, but no luck so
far.

I had them bad last pg, now it looks like it’s going to be bad this one
too.

If anyone has ANY idea how to avert or lessen them, PLEASE tell me!

As the man said:

“The proponents of not circumcising stress that lifelong penile hygiene
is essential. This acknowledges that something harmful or unpleasant is
happening under the prepuce.”  - Russell T, Med Observer 1993 (1 Oct)

Baby Carrier Update — Thanks!

Just wanted to thank those who replied to my previous post about baby
carriers.  Based on the recommendations received, I checked out mei
tais and decided to buy one.  I got one on ebay and it just arrived in
the mail the other day.  It’s gorgeous and looks very simple to use —
now all I need is the baby to arrive to put in it!  It’s my one new
purchase for this baby, and I’m really excited to use it.  Thanks again
for the info!

not CIO but Cry-In-Arms?

Anyone heard of this?

What are your thoughts?

http://www.awareparenting.com/answer13.htm

Its all so confusing!  I thought it would be much kinder to them if they
didn’t cry – a dummy/boob/rocking/wrapping helps that, but what do we
really know about how much a baby *needs* to cry?

Am I just delirious with lack of sleep for even considering this?

How old is he?

Hello

Not sure if this has been answered.  Our boy was born on April 25th, 2005.
When people ask "How old is he?", we really don’t know how to answer.  Do
you go by weeks (25 weeks old), or the number of weeks and turn it into
months (25 weeks-would be 6 months+) or do you count from the 25th of each
month (not 6 months old yet)?

Sorry if this was answered before and I missed it.

Thanks
Jeff

Hair Dye

I am thinking of dying my hair as it could do with it as it has not been
done in 7 months since I fell pregnant. I got told at the beginning of my
pregnancy to avoid doing so but is it safe to do so now that I am 25 wks
pregnant?
