Changed cycles after loss (m/c mentioned)

Hi all,

I had a 9 week loss on 10/02/06.  It took six weeks to get a positive
OPK (not sure if that means I even ovulated or not) and eight weeks to
get my first period, which was light and only lasted about three days.
I’m now on my second cycle, and this again is a very light period
(second day and it looks to be going away already).  My charts
indicated I likely ovulated (and another positive OPK), but my luteal
phase was only 11 or 12 days.

Should I be alarmed that my periods are so light now?  They were not at
all like this prior to the miscarriage.  I had a natural loss and was
not examined after the loss except to ensure my cervix was closed (no
ultrasound, no d&C, etc.)

We want to TTC right away (have been, no luck) and I’m not sure if I
should just wait and see and hope the periods get heavier and the
luteal phase longer, or if I should be proactive now and get help and a
more thorough exam.  I am hypothyroid, but my levels are good now
(below 2 for TSH).

Before the loss and after the hypo was treated I was having longer
cycles but normal ones, and I do have a 22 month baby girl.

Thanks for any advice.

Presumption of doli incapax

The UK has the highest rate of child poverty in the European Union;
amongst developed nations, child poverty is only worse in parts of the US
and Russia.

Please do not believe British propaganda.  Great Britain is a third world
nation, with African standards of corruption, dragged up to western
standards of living, by the hire fees the US pays to centre her European
armed forces here, and for US control of UK Foreign Policy (including the
British vote in the UN Security Council).

The presumption of doli incapax, that a child between the ages of ten and
fourteen was not capable of committing a criminal offence, was abolished
by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. The age of criminal responsibility in
England and Wales has been reduced to 10.

Children can be horrid, that is true, and they have an idea of how horrid
they are being; but it is also true of all of us during our childhoods.
Removing doli incapax moved innocence from the rights of children, to
something they might enjoy, if their parents can afford the lawyers.

The UK is not a progressive western nation, but a police state.

hello!

Well I waded through all the spam and found that mkp was still here! Yay!

I’ve been offline for sometime, mainly through ‘puter death, but I’m back on
now, albeit slightly "hippy-fied"!

Jessica’s six months now and still such a joy. We’ve been practicing
atatchment paarenting, and she seems so contented and happy. She rarely ever
cries, maybe a couple of times in a month. And she’s such a flirt!! Theres
some pics i had done at 3 months at http://jessie-bee.tripod.com/jessica/

DH calls me a hippy as we now use terry nappies (so much easier, and I won’t
run out next time I can’t get to the shops! never going back to
disposables!), I ‘wear’ her in a sling (so much easier on public transport
and shops!), and cos I am still breastfeeduing. That said, she’s just
starting solids, and I’ve been supplementing a bit with formula since
Christmas when she turned 6 months – hey, she’s 22lbs now, I can’t sustain
all that with my poor boobs!!

I do have one question tho….About six weeks ago, I noticed a red mark the
size of a golf ball on her stomach. The next morning, it looked like she’d
broken her ribs as she had what looked like bruising from her sternum to her
back. I rushed her to the docs, on my Health Visitors advice, who said it
was a rash and that she had an ear infection. 2 weeks later, the infection
was gone, but the ‘rash’ remained – I took her back to the doc who said it
wasn’t a rash, just ‘natural skin tones- well we’re all white, pale at that,
and this looks like nasty bruising. Its also only been there since the ear
infection. any ideas?

Well I’m working through the posts, but congratulations to all the new
mummies, mummies-to-be, and to April!

Antidepressants in pregnancy and breastfeeding

Can anyone point me to any good web resources on antidepressant use in
pregnancy (and, while I’m at it, while breastfeeding)?  (Just in case
anyone was wondering, I’m asking professionally and not personally…)

TIA,

All the best,

Sarah

Yay! The CLONES Are Coming!

Looks like "designer babies" are getting closer to becoming a reality
in our lifetime.  How about in 2 years?

And, CAN HUMAN CLONING BE FAR BEHIND?

For non-religionists and non-"bioethics" dupes, these breakthroughs
can’t come soon enough. Humanity NEEDS clones — to sustain our kind in
the wake of increased global war, terror, disease, climate change,
starvation, and murder, all of which will plague the 21st century .

The WashingtonPost is reporting that a "Texas company has started
producing batches of ready-made embryos that single women and infertile
couples can order after reviewing detailed information about the race,
education, appearance, pesonality and other characteristics pf the egg
andsperm donors.

"The Abraham Center of Life LLC of San Antonio, the first commercial
dealer making embryos in advance for unspecified recipients, was
created to help make it easier and more affordable for clients to have
babies that match their preferences, according to its founder.

"We’re just trying to help people have babies," said Jennalee Ryan, who
arranged for an egg donor to start medical treatments to produce a
second batch of embryos  this week.

"For me, that’s what this is all about: helping make babies."

NEWS RELEASE

The Abraham Center of Life L.L.C., a center for infertility, announced
the opening of the world’s first human embryo bank. At the bank,
donor-created embryos are available to infertile couples and are
shipped to the recipient parents’ medical clinic for implantation.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAN ANTONIO, TX / PR FREE / Jul 28 2006 —

Until now, the only embryos that have been available for donation, also
referred to as adoption, have been discarded embryos left over from
in-vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles involving infertile families.
Issues with this technique include incredibly low success rates
(approximately 30 percent) and the emotional attachments that the
infertile genetic parents sometimes have when relinquishing genetic
offspring to strangers.

With donor embryos, the success rate is approximately 70 percent,
without the discomfort of involving the biological parents. The cost is
approximately a third of the cost of adoption (which often has
complications such as drug and alcohol use during pregnancy, genetic
mental illnesses, fraudulent birthmothers and those that change their
minds) and approximately a third of the cost of IVF using an egg donor.

The creation of the embryo bank will allow couples that cannot afford
adoption or other infertility treatments an opportunity to have a
family.

More information is available by contacting Jennalee Ryan at
210.698.6604 or by visiting www.theabrahamcenteroflife.com.

how lovely! (update to sad (for me) post)

I waited about 3 weeks after the last feed before posting that post, as I
continued to offer for a while and was only then I was convinced it wasn’t
going to happen, but, today I had a bath with the kids, I was just
investigating to see if I still had milk and she saw and climbed over and
had a nuzzle, DS was distracting her, so I had DH get him out of the bath
and we had a bit more of a cuddle and some more attempts, she got better and
with my stimulation must have got a tiny bit of milk, but she didn’t quite
latch properly. I think I’ll try again tomorrow, even if it goes nowhere,
today will be a lovely memory, of her initiating it, even if it wasn’t
sucessful, it was a sadness to me that I couldn’t actually remember her last
feed.

Cheers

Anne
